ASIA: Judges’ symposium launches environment network

The three-day Second Asian Judges Symposium on Environment has formally launched an Asian Judges Network on Environment, marking a new level of cooperation amongst judiciary who enforce environmental laws and help preserve the region’s natural capital. ADB hosted the event in partnership with the Supreme Court of the Philippines, UNEP, the World Wildlife Fund, US AID and the Freeland Foundation. The event covered a range of topics, including recent judicial innovations in environmental cases in the region, and increasing understanding of the true economic value of natural capital and its contribution to socio-economic development.
